Fencing

Support Brandeis fencing and help us meet our challenge goals! Our student-athletes are committed to fostering teamwork, building leadership skills, and continuing to grow both on and off the strip. However, to continue to develop and support high-caliber fencers, we need your support! 100% of your donations will go towards our biggest program needs, including the following:

• Funding for our travel trip across the country to the Western Invitational, where we fence high-level schools including Stanford, Ohio State, North Carolina, Northwestern, San Diego, and many others. These matches are necessary for our fencers to increase their SPI (season performance index) and thereby their chances of qualifying for NCAA’s out of what is arguably the most competitive region in the country.
• Updates to our Fencing Room in Gosman Sports Center, including the maintenance of our scoring equipment and strips and additional amenities such as technologies to help with video review and high quality agility training.
• Team supplies, specifically FIE blades which our squads run through quickly and regularly run out of before the end of the season. Did you know that one FIE saber blade alone is $169 and that this does not even include the guard or grip?
• Supporting travel to premier events by subsidizing costs to world cups and NACs for fencers who have qualified for the opportunity to compete in them. This is a question that I get often when meeting with potential recruits as many other strong programs are able to send their fencers to these events.
